Talking Shop with the Live Art Advisory Network (LAAN)

Thursday 13 May, 6-9pm

Talking Shop

Led by the Live Art Advisory Network (a partnership between Artsadmin, Live Art Development Agency and New Work Network), Talking Shop is a free event for recent graduates and early career artists (up to three years making work) working in the areas of Live Art and interdisciplinary performance practices offering advice, information, networking, and discussions.

There will be 15-minute long one-to-one advice sessions for artists who want to discuss their practice with an advisor, small group sessions looking at ways in which peer-to-peer models can help you maintain your practice, screenings of the Everything You Still Wanted to Know About Live Art But Were Afraid To Ask DVD, and an open discussion with all attendees. There will also be material to take away and opportunities to meet with other artists. There is no need to book - just turn up at Matt Roberts Arts from 18.00.

We advise everyone to come prepared with a sense of what you want to talk about so you can get the most out of your session and check that your questions cannot be answered on our FAQ sheet. This event is free. Places for one-to-one advisory sessions are limited. One-to-one sessions, small group sessions and screenings from 6-8pm, open discussion from 8pm. There will also be opportunity to socialise afterwards in The Victory pub.
