London Arts in Health Forum

Thursday 27 May, 6-8pm

This open forum is an opportunity to find out more about the opportunities available for artists in the healthcare arena. The event will bring together curators and artists with experience of working in healthcare to discuss projects and to field questions about the issues that arise from working within and for the NHS. Among the topics up for discussion are commissioning, dealing with the challenges of the healthcare environment, working with hospital staff and retaining artistic independence.

Artist Sue Ridge and consultant and curator Candice Hurwitz will discuss a project they are currently working on for North Middlesex University Hospital called Our Storeys, a collaborative artwork created by Sue Ridge and poet John Davies, created following extensive consultation with hospital staff, patients and visitors, and the local community.

They will be joined by Damian Hebron, Director of London Arts in Health Forum and Arts Co-ordinator for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a panel discussion with questions from the floor.
